July’s solar eclipse in Cancer takes place on July 12, 10:48 p.m. EST, and will usher in new opportunities, changes, and fresh starts that will set the stage for 2019. Solar eclipses are all about new life chapters and will open a window of opportunity for you to leave behind what’s not working and start with a clean slate.
This particular eclipse is a Partial Eclipse, and although on the one hand is fairly common, will have special significance because of its direct opposition to Pluto, the farthest (yet arguably most potent) planet from the earth. In mythology Pluto is God of the Underworld, a tyrant who has the power to entrap and seduce to ensure he gets his way, at all costs. Those who have Pluto predominate in their chart often carry a ruthless, power driven edge that unleashes their deepest fears and desires, for better or worse.
Now in Capricorn, an earth sign that symbolizes structure, resilience, and material achievement, Pluto’s influence will encourage you to find the deepest cracks of your life so they can be permanently sealed. The total solar eclipse in 28 degrees of Leo will be exact on Monday, August 21, at 2: 30 p.m. EST. Positive new beginnings can be expected no matter what sign you are, but fire signs will benefit most, due the grand fire trine (a most auspicious alignment of 120 degrees) between the new moon in Leo (i.e. the eclipse), Saturn at 21 degrees Sagittarius, and Uranus at 28 degrees Aries (retrograde until January 3, 2018).
What makes this eclipse even more special is its tight proximity to Regulus, a spectacularly bright star in the heart of the Lion, for the constellation of Leo, at 29 degrees. This star is known to bring good fortune, and is prominent in the charts of many celebrated actors, politicians, as well as royalty, and well known historical figures.
One thing for sure is change is on its way! Ready or not! Saturn’s influence will likely add a sobering effect, as Saturn in the planet of stability and longevity. Sagittarian’s will likely feel this influence the most, since Saturn is now in their sign. But that won’t be the whole picture- as Uranus known for bringing the unexpected and shaking things up. Get ready to venture in new territory that feels a little rocky- after a month or so, you’ll likely gain foresight and balance to help you ground yourself as you master your footing.

FEBRUARY OVERVIEW
February will host two eclipses, so it’s likely this month will be a memorable highlight of 2017. The first eclipse will be a lunar eclipse that takes place in 22 degrees of Leo, on Friday, February 10, while the second will be a solar eclipse, in 8 degrees of Pisces, on Sunday, February 26. Both eclipses will be supported by powerful planets, (Uranus and Saturn), so you’ll have every reason to look on the bright side as 2017 progresses!
Personal expression will be the main theme for the Leo lunar eclipse. No matter what sign you are, you’ll feel uplifted and ready to take a risk. This may involve a creative project you’ve poured your heart into, a budding romance, or new and improved way of relating to the world that surrounds you. This eclipse will create a grand trine with Uranus and Saturn, so effects will likely be magical, especially for fire signs, (Aries, Leo and Sagittarius). Uranus is the planet of technology, innovation, and charitable service, so no matter what sign you are, you’ll likely be inspired by a collective vision. On the same day Mars, the action planet (and ruler of Aries) will fall into the arms of Uranus, the planet of unpredictability (now in Aries). A Solar Eclipse in Pisces~
A Pisces Solar Eclipse Paves the Way for 2016~
Today hosts the first Solar Eclipse of 2016, in the zodiac’s last sign, Pisces. An interesting mix, as this suggests a new beginning with a tone of finality, like a new chapter that begins with a memory, flashback, or foreshadowing of what’s to come. Intuition is what Pisces is all about, and it’s often said that what will be in the future has already been laid out by a string of thoughts, ideas, and quiet longings that have slowly been gathering, to create momentum.
Consider this idea as you move ahead in a particular area of your life, and you may be surprised to realize how well the route has been laid out to your new destination. If you don’t see a route however, you’ll likely need to take a detour, and this is largely what Solar Eclipses are all about-fresh starts. It’s kind of like that moment in Flash Dance , when audition time has come, and the music plays- but the steps aren’t quite polished… something is off.
Nothing wrong with that, however! She (actress Jennifer Beals), just asks if she can start over, and from there on, it’s magic. She’s in control, yet totally free. I think this shows the beauty of timing. There are times when we need to start over, and if you truly feel you need a re-start- if you ask God, your higher power, or whatever you believe in, (Pisces is a highly spiritual sign), to start again, chances are excellent that you’ll get another chance, and this time- you’ll nail it.
More on that to come, as there are some other planetary alignments that will require you to carefully strategize. Until then, here’s s a snap shot of what changes this eclipse will bring for you in the next several months. Pisces is gentle energy, but it also runs deep~
