Boris Lermontov: Why do you want to dance? Victoria Page: Why do you want to live?  Boris Lermontov : Well I don’t know exactly why, er, but I must.

Victoria Page: That’s my answer too.

                                                         Dialogue from The Red Shoes

Moira Shearer is most famous for her starring role in the classic dance film, The Red Shoes, directed by  Hollywood icon Michael Powell. Born on January 17, 1926, Ms. Shearer is a Capricorn. As the zodiac’s 10th sign, Capricorn is the zenith of the zodiac, and thrives on ambition. Saturn, the planet of realism, is Capricorn’s ruler. Thus, even though Capricorn has high hopes, she (or he) is not afraid to work hard-because it builds character, Capricorn’s most notable virtue.

With her moon in Pisces, the zodiac’s most imaginative sign, Ms. Shearer was also a dreamer who was known for her sensitivity. Her Leo ascendant made her a natural performer who adored the spotlight. The sign on the ascendant, (or rising sign), reflects ones public image, physical appearance,  and demeanor. Her infamous red hair and dramatic eyes gave her a lioness quality that is quintessentially Leo.

The Spirit of Aries~

Aries

The Resilient Initiator

Tomorrow, Tuesday, April 19, the Sun will leave Aries, so hopefully you’ve made the most of it! One of greatest attributes of Aries is its innocent resilience. As the youngest sign of the zodiac, it doesn’t take defeat so seriously. The Aries dancer is the dancer who gets up right after a fall so quickly you can’t  help but wonder- was that a mistake, or part of the choreography? The fiery confidence of the steps will likely mesmerize you so that after the curtain goes down, all you will remember will be the greatest highlights.

Like the famed danseur Rudolph Nureyev, a virtuoso is what Aries is meant to be, no matter what fleeting circumstances may bring. Indeed, Aries is the master underdog who always wins in the end! Perhaps this is why I wasn’t surprised when I discovered the legendary poet Maya Angelou was an Aries. She did know why the caged bird sings~

You can capitalize on this spirit of resilience by embracing  the area of your life that feels most challenging. Confront it- like a ram, and you’ll awaken a strength that reflects a new, more powerful identity.
