Dancing With The Stars Astrological Events for 2011

It’s June!

It’s June!

We all carry a new world within our hearts. Buenaventura Berruti

It's June!

June begins with a beautiful alignment between Venus and Saturn. A romantic relationship will likely become serious, if you’ve been dating someone who’s a good match for you. As the planet of maturity, Saturn’s influence will encourage you to commit to that which you will know will expand your life, while Venus will bring out your passionate side, and encourage you to take a risk.

As the planet of attraction, Venus loves money, so if you’re about to launch a new business endeavor, this cosmic duo will likely give you the momentum you need to get started on the right foot. Loyalty will go a long way as the month progresses. Go out of your way to show someone that you can be his or rock, and your relationship will solidify, like gold.

DWTS Champion Donald Driver Carries Aquarius to the Top!!

DONALD DRIVER’S AQUARIUS  TERPSICHORE IN THE HEART OF THE SUN!

WAS A DANCING WITH THE STARS WIN IN THE STARS?

Donald Driver has his Aquarius Sun conjunct his Terpsichore, making a tight, applying aspect. Imagine little Terpsichore suddenly being touched and ordained by the  blinding flash of an Aquarius Sun! What a gift to have the inspiration of dance so intimately touched by the glimmer of one’s life path, one’s ‘Yellow Brick Road’ of life.   Aquarius shines with genius and solidarity.  Its  deepest values lie in its love for true connection with humanity. When Aquarians serve,  (ie. Oprah Winfrey & Abraham Lincoln), they serve for all of us without even trying. It’s simply their way… and this is the only way they could ever have it! Donald’s Dancing With The Stars Win with partner Petra Murgatroyd,  is a brilliant reflection of passion for life, the desire to break boundaries, and believing in constant growth, no matter how hard it gets~

Sherri Shepherd’s Unexpected Farewell on DWTS

Sherri Shepherd’s Shocking Elimination on DWTS

A Uranus Conjunct Saturn Classic Moment~

‘That thing that scares you the most- that you don’t know if you can do because ‘I’m so scared’ -run toward it – because it’s beautiful on the other side’. ~ Sherri Shepherd

I was shocked and so saddened to see The View’s bubbly host Sherri Shepherd leave DWTS last night!! I actually did a video prior to the last show, predicting she would definitely stay in! Sherri was my favorite contestant and I was really rooting for her. After her elimination, I looked into her chart more deeply and noticed Uranus, the planet of unpredictable shock and surprise, traveling right on her Saturn, the master of karma and  hard-won maturity.  Sherri’s Saturn is in Aries, the ‘winner’ of the zodiac…wherever Saturn sits in our chart tells the story of  where and how our hardest lessons are learned. For Sherri, Aries themes of bravery, competition, athleticism and valor,  bring her great hardship yet offer glorious rewards of maturity and humility, whether she end up ‘winning’ or not.

I admit I haven’t been following DWTS as closely as previous seasons, yet from what I’ve seen…of all the contestants, it looks like  Sherri wanted this experience the most and will be changed by it the most.  I say this because  her Terpsichore is on the very edge of  Cancer  at 29 degrees (which is also pretty close to her Jupiter), at the apex of a T square…setting the stage for a Sun Mars opposition to play its self out, which I believe  is exactly what happened last night on DWTS.

I wouldn’t be surprised if last night was the most emotional night of her life.

‘That thing that scares you the most- that you don’t know if you can do because ‘I’m so scared’…Run toward it.  Because it’s beautiful on the other side’

Watching her say this electrified my bones and made me smile inside. Somehow I think Sherri’s experience on DWTS reflects Terpsichore’s own experience…to take such delight in celebration through music and movement, as a mother,  and as a story-teller, whose purpose is to relay a very special message about the beauty of life. Terpsichore’s journey, I’m finding, is much about coming home to the depths of our human feeling, where the unexpected could happen at any moment and turn our souls upside down. Perhaps this is why she is so married to each moment, celebrating life with the power of her human gifts, her body, and her voice. Sherri is an undeniable Taurus,  with her Sun at the strongest (‘Aries point’) 1st degree, of the sign of the body and voice,…Taurus- the sign of the bull who has the strength and power that’s required for the ‘dancer’ to bring the dream down to Earth, like Martha Graham, Fred Astaire, Margot Fonteyn, James Brown, Isadora Duncan,  Michele Wiles, and Jack Cole, to name a few…Sherri also has Taurus’s ruler Venus, married to the exquisite fixed star Aldebaran, in 9 degrees of Gemini. Her light is special indeed…meant to shine in more ways than she could probably imagine.

Her dancing has revealed  just a glimmer of her hidden potential~

J.R.Martinez and Karina Smirnoff are DWTS Season 13 Winners!

GEMINI + CAPRICORN= SUCCESS!!!

J.R. MARTINEZ LEADS KARINA SMIRNOFF TO HER FIRST DWTS VICTORY AFTER 10 YEARS OF COMPETING!

I had mentioned before in an earlier post how Gemini and Capricorn make for an excellent student teacher relationship. It’s simple. Gemini’s natural instinct is to learn while Capricorn is a born leader.  In this way, they play off each other quite well.  Although it is true, as shown in earlier rehearsal clips of DWTS, that Gemini’s need for “playtime”, can greatly frustrate the stern discipline of Capricorn.  Geminis like to play. Capricorns like to work. So,  picture the teacher frustrated with getting the attention of her distracted students, who are usually talking, horsing around, and writing notes to one another…how does one manage that?

No matter what sign the teacher may have, they will have to foster up some Capricorn in them; they must take charge.  This is Capricorn’s speciality.  I mean this not in an egotistical, forceful way like an Aries might, but a methodical, focused way.  Mars, the planet that naturally rules Aries, has its highest expression via exaltation is Capricorn.  The competitiveness and ambition of Mars loves the stability, momentum and endurance of Capricorn; just think of the goat who assuredly, step by step, eventually makes it to the top of the mountain. But we are humans, not goats…and when we reach the top, I really do think we do have to  find real meaning in it.  I think Karina found enormous meaning with  this  win not only because it took her 10 years to win, but by being allowed to be a part of J.R.’s own personal journey, and to have the chance to make him shine, after everything he has endured throughout his life. Gemini is multi-talented and extraordinarily creative, but not very ‘realistic’, or result oriented. It needs to learn how to pull all their creative resources together to actually create, and Karina brought the best out J.R.’s Gemini qualities.

Gemini energy is like the typical oversized NYC public classroom. There is so much potential and creative energy buzzing around, but nothing is really happening until something actually becomes of it, whether it be through a group project, passing ‘standardized tests’, or gathering in focused, meaningful discussion and learning. The teacher must get the students engaged on a very practical level to bring the best out of them….and although dancing isn’t normally what I would call ‘practical’, when you have to learn to dance with a partner, not steps on their toes, lift them, twirl them, etc. and stay on rhythm with the music, you must be practical, otherwise the danger factor takes over. Dance educators often say one can learn the technique, but not necessarily the art…J.R. had the artistry, and Karina brought him the technique. I also think J.R.’s open heart softened Karina a bit and relaxed her enough so she could really shine and take a risk with out-doing herself, which after 10 years of competing, she was more than ready for. In this case, ten is the win!

Of course there’s a lot more to Gemini and Capricorn   than this, but it it’s amazing how clearly the essence of the sign’s ‘instinct’ shows its self in performance/competitive scenarios.  Watching DWTS is an excellent way to see astrology  in action!!  Especially transit wise! When I saw J.R. Martinez was going through the infamous Saturn return, I just knew he would win. Last year was Jupiter’s favor with Hines Ward’s Jupiter in Aries return. Hines beat out Kirstie whose chart was overloaded with Capricorn/Saturn influences. So, this year belongs to Saturn with J.R. Martinez’s Saturn return in its favorite sign of Libra, and  Karina’s Sun sign Saturn ruled Capricorn. Karina also had the transiting Sun exactly squaring her Saturn, and transiting Pluto in Capricorn was exactly conjoining her Venus, so I’m sure that helped!!

This is Karina Smirnoff’s first DWTS win; as a Capricorn who has been one of the few with not 1 win in nine years worth of work,   she had her classic Susan Lucci (also a Capricorn, of course), moment. She finally got what she deserved, through  hard, consistent, painstaking work.  Wherever there is Capricorn there is some measure of ‘pain’ involved because of the association with the karmic nature of Saturn. We all have a Saturn. We all are bound to experience some measure of pain in a particular area of our lives. Yet, we are also rewarded when we’ve learned the proper lessons that help us overcome our own suffering. In this way, Saturn’s deception is fascinating. He is the teacher who gives ‘tough love’, because it’s his job to make sure you reach your potential., and you can’t fake it…the progress, like dancing, comes with practice, failure, repetition, and more than anything, dedicated committment, like dance instructor Lydia’s character on the popular 80’s t.v. shoe ‘Fame’ Saturn says: “I wanna see you sweat“.

This means when a dancer doesn’t get an audition after working their butt off they can’t back out and say ‘dance is not for me’. No. They keep working.  They endure the rejection. Once their ego is humbled and their skills are mastered, Saturn guides his hand of fate, and  finally, they get their chance. Who knows in what form or shape it takes, but it will be significant, long-lasting, and very real, and most of all, it will be rightfully earned.  Saturn never gives anything away…this year’s DWTS fans can be assured this was more than a fair win. It was a dignified victory.

Hope Solo’s Leo Paso Doble Brings her to the Edge for Dancing With the Stars Season 13 Semi-Finals

A  Leo Celebration for True Dance Athlete Hope Solo on DWTS

Sun Mars Conjunction~ Leo at its Best!

Last night was the first round of the Semi-Finals on Dancing With the Stars. I was a bit taken aback by the the outgoing display of upbeat enthusiasm from Hope Solo and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy,  amidst a tackle of  less than ideal scores for their triple 7 Paso Doble and last place ranking in the Cha-Cha Relay.  The Judges Consensus:

‘the character took over while the grace and fluidity suffered.’

Hope has her Sun dignified in Leo making a tight conjunction with her Mars in Leo. This essentially means the light of her Sun showers her confidence, drive, and ambition with royalty and a stong sense of ‘performance’.

Leo of course in infamous for being the performer of the zodiac, and it seems last night Hope’s dancing suffered from an overdose of Leo character. Still, the classic “don’t rain on our parade” attitude made them excellent sports!

Leos make the best sports when it comes to falling short of winning expectations. Their hearts are so open and I think they really believe there’s always going to be another opportunity coming their way to give them a chance to shine even brighter~

I am not an optimist, I am a possibilist.

Dancing With the Stars Semi-Finalists Have All the Elements of the Zodiac Covered!

DWTS SEMI-FINALS

Alchemy in Motion~ Fire, Air, Earth, Water

Once again each semi-finalist covers an element of the zodiac! Rob Kardashian is a sensitive Pisces, Hope Solo an outgoing Leo (conjoining Mars), Ricki Lake an elegant Virgo, and J.R. Martinez, a fluid Gemini.  J.R. Martinez is approaching his Saturn Return, while tonight Saturn conjoins Rob Kardashian’s Moon. Rob is bound to have heavy feelings tonight, no matter how things turn out!

J.R. Martinez & Karina Smirnoff Celebrate A Glorious Double Triple 10 Night on Dancing With the Stars!!! 11-7- 2011

J.R. MARTINEZ & KARINA SMIRNOFF~A DYNAMIC DANCE DUO ON DWTS!!!

Gemini  Masters the  Jive  with the help of  his Capricorn Teacher!

Karina Smirnoff decided to incorperate stucture to the Jive by breaking the choreography down into four sections…a very Capricornian trait! Getting the foundation in place so the movement can be free to shine was her goal, which turned into a four star achievement. The Jive is light, upbeat, quick, and intricate…the perfect dance for  a Gemini like J.R.  Although J.R. ‘s lighthearted fun loving nature frustrated Karina’s Capricorn stern focus, she was able to make him get down to work and get the best of him.   Of all the signs, I think Gemini’s are most transformed through dedication and hard work…and they also really appreciate a good teacher! J.R. and Karina definately are a dynamic dance duo!

Constantly Confident! Gemini J.R. Martinez Nails his DWTS Samba with Sexy Finesse~

J.R. Martinez , A Gemini DWTS Sensation!

Gemini Sun Conjunct Mars

Magical Twins

Last night J.R. Martinez’s dancing was absolutely on the mark! Although he claims he got in touch with his “Latin Roots”, my feeling is last night’s samba triumph had more to do with his powerful Gemini Sun Mars conjunction. Confidence comes naturally to him.  His ability to flow and move with precision is also well-marked. Bruno Tonioli got the astrology right on the money when describing J.R.’s  movement as constantly magical, exuding out, a source of inspiratin,  and having extra sharpness with  his feet… the more I watch DWTS, the more I realize the power of Mercury ‘s impact in making a great dancer.

The ability to make clean, crisp, flowing transitions is crucial in ballroom dancing, more so than any other style of dance, I think. When dancing with a partner  we have to be able to adapt and flow with the other person without loosing precision; we have to find a way to mirror and become our partner’s “twin”.  We also have to  clearly interpret our partner’s messages, so we can be on the same rhythm and not step on their toes!   The adaptability of Gemini and the precision of Virgo allows the dancer to translate a creative  lightness through the body and share that with their partner.

In this way, Gemini is just as much of a partnership sign as Libra, if not more so. Although Libra heavily emphasizes partnership, its connection to Venus makes it more distracted with how it looks to others, while Gemini is free enough to become infused in the actual partnership and experience it completely in the moment.  This definitely happened last night  on Dancing With the Stars with J.R. and Karina  Smirnoff’s samba.

Aside from Mr. Martinez’s  remarkable dancing skills, his life has been loaded with Gemini Sun/Mars attributes.  His success as an actor, solider, and  motivational speaker showcases quite an impressive mix of inspiration, perseverance, and downright strength. I couldn’t help but notice while reading his biography that in 2008 he was honored  as a “Shining Star of Perseverance” by the Will Return Council of Assurant Employee Benefits.

And now, on DWTS, he is shining more than ever~

Chynna Phillips Voted Off Dancing With The Stars, A Full Moon Culmination

Aires Full Moon Conjoining Saturn

An Aires Full Moon Moment

Last night’s full moon in Aires culminated with the elimination of Chynna Phillips on Dancing With The Stars. ‘I’m a fighter’, was a final statement after Monday’s faltering performance. ‘I saw the smoke and couldn’t see’…it happens to the best of us at the worst of times. When the pressure is on, the best judgement can easily be clouded. Chynna is an Aquarius, so I think Neptune may have been fooling with her a little on Monday, unfortunately.

Chynna is best known for the hit song  “Hold On For One More Day” from 90’s popular sister trio Wilson Phillips.  Chynna’s Saturn is in Aires, and last night the full moon was giving Saturn a nudge. Although she was clearly disappointed, she took it in stride, most likely because she had to!  It was  magnificent to see…a moment where one must instantly find the courage to stand tall after such a grand defeat.

I think this is what famed spiritual astrologer Isabel Hickey meant when she labeled the Saturn in Aires placement the ‘ test of self centeredness’. With  help from last night’s full moon, Chynna passed the test; her elimination from Dancing With The Stars has given her enough strength to hold on for another life time!

A True Aries Moment! Chaz Bono’s Breakthrough on Dancing With The Stars~

Aries at its Best!

Chaz Bono’s Horoscope & Dancing With the Stars

Dancing with the stars contestant Chaz Bono experienced the moment of a lifetime last night when dancing to the “Rocky” theme song. His north node is at the Aries point in Aries! So, this dance for him was particularly special. The north node being symbolic of our spiritual destiny…a destiny that not only puts us on a hard path but the right path.  Chaz nailed every step. His focus was unstoppable. It definitely was a true Aries moment!

The transiting north node in Sagittarius was also squaring his natal moon in Virgo, suggesting public recognition of grand proportions, and in particular the emotional support from and incredibly powerful and special woman, his mother, Cher. She was in tears as she watched him perform.

This is one of many examples of how dance can so clearly reveal the spirit inside~
