Remembering Bob Fosse
Cancer Sun, Aquarius Ascendant Aries Moon
“Don’t Dance for the Audience, Dance for Yourself” — Bob Fosse
“Don’t Dance for the Audience, Dance for Yourself ” Bob Fosse
Taking a deeper look into his chart, it’s clearly revealed dance was indeed the ticket to Fosse’s legacy. With the Sun in perfect sextile to Terpsichore (asteroid # 81) both in quincunx to Saturn-the infamous magical atrological pattern is revealed- ‘the Yod’, better known as the ‘Finger of God’. In Fosse’s Case, God’s finger points directly to hard work, professionalsim, achievement, and legacy- all infamous virtues of Saturn.
Saturn’s placement in Sagitarius in the ninth house (the Archer’s natural arena) emphasizes faith and spirituality – and is not easily expressed through the confines of Saturn’s critical gaze and high expectations. It’s likely that although Fosse was adulated by his colleagues and fans, he was never fully satisfied or deeply believed in himself-but he didn’t have to- thanks to the perfect sextile between the Sun and Terpsichore.
Known as the “opportunity aspect”, the sextile (60 degree angle) is akin to two planets shaking hands in strong agreement. In Fossey’s case, his Cancer Sun and Taurus Terpsichore signifies a beautiful parternship of soul with sensuality, topped off with a refined aesthetic- (due to Venus’s rulership of Taurus). Fosse intuitively knew how to make a dancer look great while also emitting irresistible visceral energy. Undoubetdly this was the gift of his Sun Terpsichore sextile- a planteary agreement that set off a divine spark and unleashed unstoppable positive momentum.
Some people are just born to be dancers; Bob Fosse was definately one of them.

Solar Eclipse in Cancer
Home is not a place- it’s a feeling, Cecelia Ahern
This Solar Eclipse is especially powerful as it arrives with the Summer Solstice, when the Sun (the galaxy’s brigthest star) rises to its highest distance from the earth, at the top of the northern hemisphere, also known as the Tropic of Cancer. It marks the longest day of the year and the first day of Summer.
Cancer is a sign of royalty, fertility, emotional intelligence, and nurturance. You can expect this eclipse to usher in a new emotional chapter in your life. You’ll likely feel a strong urge to make a fresh start in a particular area of your life, this eclipse is also especially strong arriving at the very beginning of Cancer at 0 Degrees, also known as the Aries point.
This will intensify the Cancerian influence, and because Cancer is a cardinal sign, you’ll likely want to forge powerfully ahead, even if you don’t yet have a clear direction. This is a beuatiful time for an intuitive breakthrough that can guide you directly to your north star~ Did you like this post? Donate to Dancestrology!

The Gentle Giant
May 25th, 2020
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
As Saturn, the planet of justice, retrogrades in Aquarius, the sign symbolic of community, brotherhood, and humanity, we as a people will have hard lessons to learn about human rights, dignity, and social justice. Let us come together and stand for a better future- a future that embraces all races, creeds, and ethnicities with equal respect, empathy, and love.
Venus Retrograde in Gemini
May 13 thru June 25
It is so sad to love everything, without knowing what one loves! Pubilius Syrus
As Venus retrogrades in Gemini, your heart may feel split in two. An emotional pull that lures you toward indecisiveness will challenge your sense of logic, but if you take a light approach, you’ll prevail. Indeed, Venus in Gemini is like the social butterfly- fun, curious and alluring, but ultimately non committal. Venus is the planet of indulgence after all, and Gemini is the zodiac’s most dualistc sign.
If you’re involved with anyone who has a Venus in Gemini natal placement, it’s likely he or she is highly flirtatious and has a special way with words. Keep this in mind throughout this retrograde cycle. Gemini energy is slick and Venus is all about getting what she wants. Translated- old flames will likely resurface. Initially the contact will likely be casual ie. “just checking in” or “how have you been”? Infact, your popularity may soar as a result of a flurry of old contacts swirl toward you, competing for your attention.
If there have been words left unsaid between you and someone special, this retrograde cycle will offer a wonderful opportunity to get your feelings off your chest. Once you can clearly see the situation from the other person’s perspective, love will open up, like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis.

The Poetry of Aries
You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them. Maya Angelou, Sun in Aries
With the Sun now in Aries, the sign of the courage and vitality, despite how constricted your environment may feel, you’ll have an opportunity to take the lead and create your own path forward. The power is in your hands to go your own way and stand tall, for nothing gets an Aries down for too long.

Three Ways Astrology Can Help you Through the Corona Virus Pandemic
Three things can not be hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth. Buddha
Three Ways to Increased Vitality and Well Being
- Find ways to express the most positive virtues of your Sun Sign.
- Embrace the qualities of your Moon Sign
- Follow the Rules of the planet and sign that governs your Solar 6th house
Your Sun Sign is what gives you vitality, will power, and purpose.
As the galaxy’s brightest star, the Sun is the giver of light, the source of energy, and raw power. Water signs will feel vitalized through intimacy, imagination, and emotional empathy. Fire signs will thrive off of creativity, physicality, and play. Earth signs need comfort, stability, and mental fortitude, while air signs need to be social, mentally active, and objective.
Your Moon sign is what makes you feel secure and at ease.
Water Moon Signs thrive off of emotional connection.
Fire Moon Signs need to be appreciated for their humor and playfulness.
Earth Moon Signs will find comfort in good food, comfortable clothes, and a touch of luxury.
Air Moon Signs will find comfort in conversation, social media, and intellectual games.
Your 6th House
The sixth house governs the area of your chart that represents self-care, hygiene, and well being.
To find the planet and sign associated with your sixth house, count 6 signs from your Sun sign. That planet and sign will clue you in to the best TLC formula. So for example, if you are a Cancer, you will have Sagittarius as the sign of your 6th house cusp. This means being in large, open spaces where you can take in fresh air will help you feel revived and refreshed, as Sagittarius is the sign of exploration and adventure. If you can’t get outside, simply focusing on large yoga movements that emphasize full breaths will be good!
I’ll get into this in more detail in another post!
Shine Your Light~
The Sun Enters Aries
Conquering the Corona Virus
The Clock is Ticking. If you’re going to start living now would be a good time.
The Sun, the galaxy’s brightest star, is exalted in the sign of Aries. This amplify’s everything the Sun is well known for: warmth, brightness, strength, optimism, hope, and spirit. All this ushers in the freshness that’s associated with Spring.
It is time to begin anew. Of all the zodiac signs, Aries has the most vitality. Take any Aries you know, and he or she will likely possess an inner confidence that always shines, like an eternal flame hidden in the depths of the heart. Funny enough the root of the word courage is cor- the Latin word for heart. In it’s most basic form, the word courage means “To speak one’s mind by telling all one’s heart.”
Ironically this makes of one of the zodiac’s most vulnerable and sensitive signs- they just don’t let disappointment get them down for very long. Still, Aries can be sensitive to criticism, and easily feel slighted if not given the respect he or she rightly deserves. This is because Aries is all about “I”, not necessarily in the negative ego driven sense (that’s the dark side of Aries) but rather the healthy “I” that celebrates a strong sense of personal identity and self actualization.
In times of crisis, we all need support, but I think it’s also important to realize we as individuals are more powerful than we may think. During this time when the Sun’s power is exalted, the following may be quite helpful:
How can you take positive action toward what matters most to you? This is not so much about resources, or intelligence, or even confidence, but rather courage- the courage to go forward even though you may fall- hard. Welcome the opportunity to take a very high step and you will find success, whether you ‘make it’ or not. As the zodiac’s youngest sign, Aries is the most resilient.
The gift of the Sun is Aries? Trust in the power of your resilience.

The Sun enters Pisces
“I was trying to change things on the outside and you can’t. You’ve got to feel it on the inside and everything else will change.” Rhonda Byrne
Today the Sun enters Pisces, to last until March 20. Now is the time to listen to the quiet voice within, and go deeper.
Lunar Eclipse In Cancer
The Royal Family at Odds
The world is not the most pleasant place. Eventually your parents leave you and nobody is going to go out of their way to protect you unconditionally. You need to learn to stand up for yourself and what you believe and sometimes pardon my language, kick some ass.
Queen Elizabteth II
Funny enough I recall my most recent conversation with my Father ” Did you hear the news?” “What news?” “Harry wants to leave the Royal Family and the Queen’s feelings are hurt!”
This pretty much sums up the Cancer Lunar Eclipse, which peaked on Friday, 2:21 p.m. EST.
I asked him what his source was and he said he read the message through his I Phone (which sounded a bit strange as he is 77 years old)! Then about five minutes later I heard a little ring on my phone…and sure enough the news popped up via an Apple New Link.
How perfectly does this sum up this eclipse! Cancer is the sign of the Royal Family after all, AND is also associated with Apple. Cancer is the sign of the motherhood, nurturing, a sense of family, and last not but least, emotional sensitivity. Cancer is also ruled by the moon, which makes this full moon Lunar eclipse doubly Cancerian.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has a Cancer Ascendant at 24 degrees of Cancer, just a few degrees away from the Lunar Eclipse at 20 degrees of Cancer
Lunar eclipses signal endings, and since the moon is Cancer’s ruling planet, this particular eclipse will usher an extra powerful culmination. How this manifests will depend on how it hits your chart. I you are a Cancer or Capricorn, or have have a lot of Cancer or Capricorn in your chart, your inner strength will certainly be tested.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, has a Cancer Ascendant at 24 degrees of Cancer, just a few degrees away from the Lunar Eclipse at 20 degrees of Cancer. Now is her time to shine and show what’s she’s made of, or as the Queen may more appropriate say:
kick some ass
There are also many other powerful planets opposing the eclipse- creating a whirlwind of cosmic chaos that will echo for months to come.
Just as the Drama of the Royal Family…
To be continued!

Capricorn Sun & Terpsichore, Cancer Moon, Sagittarius Ascendant
The creative process is not controlled by a switch you can simply turn on or off; it’s with you all the time. Alvin Ailey
Alvin Ailey’s horoscope is a wild display of legacy, life long commitment, and courageous leadership. When looking at his photo I can not help be see the resemblance of the goat persona Capricorn is so famous for. His piercing eyes, his chiseled jawline, and perfectly trimmed ‘ goatee’. He is the quintessential goat not only in image but also soul and spirit, as his chart clearly reveals.
What’s most striking in his chart is the intimate connection between the Sun and Saturn at 14 degrees of Capricorn. In astrology this tight planetary embrace is known as cazimi or “in the heart of the Sun”. When a planet is “in the heart of the Sun”, its power is amplified and adds a special charisma to the Sun’s rays.
In Mr. Ailey’s case the connection is even more powerful as Saturn happens to also be the ruler of Capricorn, the zodiac’s most serious sign. Saturn is also known as the ruler of “fate” and points to one’s destiny. It is a planet that rewards hard work with lasting achievement. Now, moving toward yet another decade in the 21st century, the Ailey Spirit continues to shine brightly, as if indeed in the heart of the Sun.
